Jose F. "Joe" Goncalves

Mr. Jose F. “Joe” Goncalves, 46, of Milford MA died unexpectedly on Wednesday (May 14, 2025) shortly after admittance to the Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Theresa M. (Rua) Vaz.

Joe was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Jose B. Goncalves and the son of Maria (Nascimento) Goncalves of Milford MA. He attended Milford public schools as a young boy and was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1997. He also attended Framingham State College.

Joe had been employed for the past 10years at the Milford Water Department.

Joe was a lifelong resident of Milford MA and a longtime communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and a longtime member of the Portuguese Club in Milford MA. He also loved to workout and also enjoyed his garden at home. But most of all, he loved to travel with his beloved family members.

Along with his beloved wife Theresa, he is survived by his mother Maria of Milford MA and his brother Moses Goncalves of Milford MA.

In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place. A PRIVATE FUNERAL will be held Tuesday (May 27th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA . Relatives & friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday (May 27th) at 10:00AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church (LOWER CHURCH), 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial of his cremains will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
