Joseph Charles DiAntonio

Mr. Joseph C. DiAntonio, 90, of Milford MA died Monday morning (April 30, 2018) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret B. “Peg” (Brown)  DiAntonio , who died in 2008.

Mr. DiAntonio was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Charles and the late Bertha (Nelson) DiAntonio. He attended Milford public schools, graduating from Milford High School, Class of 1945.

 Upon graduation from high school he enlisted in the US Navy. Following the war he began his long career working at the  Rosenfeld Concrete Company, from which he retired as plant manager and credit manager.

Mr. DiAntonio was a lifelong resident of Milford and loved serving the town and its residents. He had served as a Town Meeting Member for 52 years and was longtime member of the Democratic Town Committee. He had also served as Chairman of the Finance Committee, a Library Trustee, Chairman of the Library Building Committee and Trustee of the Milford Geriatric Authority.

Mr. DiAntonio had also served as the Plains Reunion, Executive Director for 30 years and also served as Troop 2 Milford Scout Master for 16 years. He loved his trips to Las Vegas NV, to his trailer in Onset MA, to Martha’s Vineyard and cruises with his late wife, Peg.

Mr. DiAntonio is survived by 6 Children: Gerard DiAntonio and his wife Elaine of Sun City Center FL, Jessie, wife of Jason Traiger of Milford  MA, Maggie,  wife of Tony Chianese of Mendon MA, Fred DiAntonio of Grafton MA, James DiAntonio and his wife Pam of Mashpee MA and Lisa, wife of Lester Simmons of Milford MA; 12 Grandchildren: Dick McGrath and his wife Jessica of Saverna Park MD, Laurie, wife of Kevin Graves of Mendon MA, Jay Luther and his wife Angie of Bloomington IN, Keith McGrath and his wife Jeanne of Milford MA, Maggie Luther, wife of Jeff Calaski of Bernardston MA, Betsy, wife of Kevin McGravey of Hopedale MA, Lisbeth, wife of Nicholas Hargraves of San Diego CA, Jay Jay DiAntonio of Worcester MA, Chris Simmons and his wife  Heather of Taunton MA, Alexa DiAntonio of San Diego CA, Dylan DiAntonio of Bellingham MA and Andrea Hathaway of Maryville TN; also 14 Great Grandchildrenand 1 Brother Charles DiAntonio and his wife Patricia of Milford MA.

Mr. DiAntonio was the father of the late Marcie McGrath, the late Joseph DiAntonio Jr., the late Robert DiAntonio and the brother of the late Rose Recchia and the late Bea Young.

His funeral, with Military Honors, will be held Friday (May 4th) at 8am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. In accordance with his wishes cremation will follow and private committal services will be held at the convenience of  the family. Visiting hours will be held Thursday (May 3rd) from 5pm to 8pm.
