Joseph W. Dillon 58, of Milford, MA and The Villages, FL, died Tuesday August 15, 2023, after a brave battle with Leukemia surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Rebecca (Lavallee) Dillon.
Joe was born in Milford MA to Katherine (Smith) Dillon and the late William D. Dillon Jr.
He attended Milford Catholic Elementary School and was a 1983 graduate of Milford High School. After high school, he attended Keefe Tech for his plumbing training. Joe was a plumber by trade and has worked for the Milford Housing Authority for 35 years. But Joe was more than a plumber, he was a friend, he was a shoulder to lean on, an ear to patiently listen, he was a handy man, and he was the man you call when you are in a jam. Joe would help anyone out in a heartbeat. He had a heart of gold and a humble and kind soul.
Joe and Rebecca enjoyed spending time at their home in The Villages, Florida and looked forward to opening their home to family and friends. He was a dedicated son and supportive brother. His nieces’ nephews and stepchildren adored and looked up to him. Everyone knew they could come to Joe for anything, and he would help them out.
Besides his wife Rebecca, he leaves his mother, Katherine Dillon of Milford, sisters Mary (Bill) Talbot of Winnetka, IL, Patricia (John) Halpin of Milford and Carolyn (Chris) Federico of Milford. His nieces and nephews Chelsea, Jordan and Dillon Zona, Trevor and Hope Talbot and Meghan and Maren Halpin. His step-daughters, Bonnie (Gabriel) Lamoureux, Amanda Redden and her partner Alex Torosian, and Amy Redden. He also leaves behind his two year old granddaughter Paisley Lamoureux who brought him so much happiness.
Joe was predeceased by his father William D. Dillon Jr., sister Anne Dillon, Nephew Coady Zona and father-in-law Paul Lavallee.
The funeral will take place on Saturday August 19, 2023, at 9 AM, from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress St, Milford, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Saint Mary of the Assumption Church , 19 Winter Street Milford MA. Calling hours at the funeral home will be from 4 to 7 pm, on Friday August 18, 2023.
