Kathleen Blaney Obituary

Mrs. Kathleen J. (Cashin) Blaney, 84, of Milford MA died Monday (December 7, 2020) at the Hope Hospice House in Providence RI after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of Joseph I. Blaney, who died in 2017.

 

Mrs. Blaney was born in Charlestown MA, the daughter of the late Thomas T. and the late Mary R. (Murphy) Cashin. She attended St. Mary’s Grammar School in Boston MA and St. Ambrose Catholic School in Dorchester MA. She also was a graduate of Archbishop Cushing High School in South Boston MA and attended the Boston Clerical School.

 

Mrs. Blaney was a devoted housewife and mother who loved to go dancing & travel, but her favorite past-time was spending time with her beloved family members, especially her grandchildren. She was a communicant & active member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Milford. She was also active at the Milford Senior Center and a member of the Red Hat Society.

 

She is survived by her two sons: John J. Blaney and his wife Laurie of Milford MA and Thomas J. Blaney and his wife Bonnie of Westport MA; her four grandchildren: Morgan Blaney, Sydney Blaney and Taylor Blaney of Milford MA and Matthew Blaney of Westport MA; also one sister: Nancy Hendrick of Columbus OH and several nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late William T. Cashin.

 

In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place. A Private Committal Service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne MA at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.
