Kathleen Mary (Neuding) Byrnes

Mrs. Kathleen M. (Neuding) Byrnes, 77, of Milford MA died Wednesday (January 22, 2025) at Countryside Healthcare of Milford after an illness. She was the beloved wife of Atty. Joseph F. Byrnes Jr.

Kathleen was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late James Neuding and the late Helen (Donnelly) Neuding. She was a graduate of the former St. Mary’s Central Catholic High School, Class of 1965. she then received her bachelor’s degree in education from Fitchburg State University and her master’s degree in children’s literature from Simmons University.

Kathleen had been employed for over 30 years as a teacher in the Milford public school system, a job that she thoroughly enjoyed.  She was a longtime member of the Milford Teachers Association.

Kathleen loved to sew and was an avid quilter. She and her sewing group friends were part of the “Blankets of Hope” organization that produced blankets for our veterans recovering in the hospital. She also loved to cook and play “Mar-Jang” with her friends. Kathleen also enjoyed going on ski trips to Utah, Colorado & Europe with her family.

Kathleen is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years; her son: Patrick M. Byrnes and his wife Shannon Marie of Foxboro MA; her 2 grandchildren: Finley Byrnes & Clara Byrnes; also several cousins.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday (January 28th) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church (LOWER CHURCH), 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be held Monday evening (January 27th) from 5pm to 7pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.
