Kathleen Mary (Kingdon) Dossantos, 65, of Whitinsville, MA died July 10, 2024 at Advinia Care in Northbridge, MA, after fighting a long illness.
Kathy was born in Worcester, MA, the daughter of the late Robert Kingdon and late Ann (Covaleski) Kingdon. She graduated from Nipmuc Regional High School and attended Salter College.
In her earlier years, Kathy worked at the Fair Department Store, Suburbanite, and Data General. She realized working in an office was not her forte as she was someone who could not sit still. Instead, she wanted to be out in public with folks who enjoyed being in her company and did so by working in the service industry for many years. She worked at the Royal Buddha, Canoe Club, Lowell’s Restaurant, Medway Café and Friendly’s, among others. Although it had been four years since she was able to work, the memories of her Friendly’s family were something she forever cherished.
Kathy loved visiting Tennessee to see family, spending time with her grandchildren, getting her nails done with her daughter Heather, and scratching lottery tickets (and winning a lot). She loved being surrounded by people, especially her grandkids. She loved talking about memories from all the restaurants she worked in over the years and from growing up in a large family. Even though her stories were often long and drawn out, the smiles and laughs they produced made listening to them completely worth it. Let us all keep her memory alive by continuing to tell stories of her and her laugh that brought out a smile in anyone she was around. Although she is no longer on earth with us, she will live in our hearts and minds until we meet again!
She leaves behind two daughters, Stacy McNeil (Shaun) of Ithaca, NY and Heather Henning of Whitinsville, MA; three brothers, Kevin Kingdon of Knoxville, TN, James Kingdon (Liz) of Milford, MA, Robert Kingdon (Sandy) of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Laurie Taylor (Mark) of Knoxville, TN and Ann Marie Lanagan (David) of Mendon, MA; five grandchildren, Maddie, Emmy, Jacob, Logan and Ben, along with many nieces and nephews.
Kathy was the sister of the late Susan Leon.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life and memorial service will be held Saturday, July 27th from 10am - 12pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.
