Kathleen Marie O'Brien

Kathleen Marie O’Brien, 83, of Milford MA died Wednesday (February 14, 2024) at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham MA after a period of declining health.

Kathleen was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late William G. O’Brien and the late Veronica (O’Brien) O’Brien. She attended the former St. Mary’s Grammar School and was a graduate of the former St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1958. She went on to graduate from the former St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing in Worcester MA.

Kathleen then began her successful career as a registered nurse first working at Massachusetts General Hospital located in Boston MA and at Kaiser Hospital in San Francisco CA. Later in her career she worked at hospitals located in Buffalo NY, Roanoke VA, St. Louis MO, & Greenwich CT.

Along with the cities where she was employed as a registered nurse, Kathleen had resided for a few years in Ireland, an experience that she thoroughly enjoyed. She returned to Milford MA in 1998, where she has resided until her passing.

Kathleen was an avid reader & traveler. She also loved attending the theatre & the symphony.

Kathleen is survived by her 2 siblings: Mary Ann Mastroianni of Milford MA and William G. O’Brien Jr. and his wife Ana Karina Rojo-O’Brien of Holliston MA; also her nieces & nephew: Andrea Mastroianni and her companion Joel Szlosek of Westminster MA, Mia Mastroianni of Los Angele CA, Amaia O’Brien of Holliston MA and William G. O’Brien III of Holliston MA.

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place.

Her funeral will be held SATURDAY (October 26th) at 10am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial of her cremains will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
