Mr. Kenneth C. Evans, 84, of Milford, MA passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen E. (Morini) Evans.
Ken was born in Milford, MA the son of the late George Seymour and Catherine (Holland) Evans. He attended St. Mary’s Elementary School, St. Mary’s Central Catholic High School, class of 1957, Worcester State College, and Burdett College. He also served with the National Guard. Ken retired from the Massachusetts Highway Department as a Right of Way Agent.
Ken’s love of politics led him to a lifelong devotion to the community of Milford, serving as a former member of the Milford School Committee, Town Meeting Member and a current member of the Milford Board of Health for 50 years.
Ken enjoyed gardening, especially with his grandchildren . He was an avid coin and stamp collector and he loved to travel. Ken was a member of the Marchegiano Club of Milford, and an honorary mayor of the Milford Heights Portuguese Club. He loved being at the ocean, clamming and quahogging, and above all, spending time with his family.
Ken is survived by his children: Patricia A. Guenther of Milford and Deborah J. Cenedella and her fiancé Shad Hinds also of Milford; his 5 grandchildren: Tomas P. Reardon, Daria E. Cenedella, David J. Hachey, Lucia P. Cenedella, and Carolina E. Guenther. Uncle to Damian (Shaughnessy) Wagman and Anne (Shaughnessy) Sullivan.
Ken was the father of the late Elizabeth M. (Evans-Reardon) Hachey who passed away in 2013 and brother to the late Elsie Payne, George Evans, Alfred Evans, Richard Evans, Joseph (Ronnie) Evans and John (Jack) Evans.
His funeral will be held Friday (November 17th) at 9 am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (Upper Church), 7 East Main St, Milford, MA. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be held Thursday (November 16th) from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.
