Leonard Oliveri Obituary

Mr. Leonard J. Oliveri, 64, of Milford MA, died Saturday (July 19, 2021) at Countryside Healthcare of Milford after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Karen A. (Johnson) Oliveri.

Lenny was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Leo and the late Jenny (Leo) Oliveri. He attended Milford public schools, graduating from Milford High School, Class of 1974. He also attended Worcester State College.

Lenny had worked for many years as a mason contractor and had learned his trade under great men like Dalio Pettinari & Jimmy Nicoletta. He eventually established his own business, Oliveri Masonry, which he owned & operated for twenty-five years.

Lenny was a member of the Hoboken Citizens Club and when his children were young he coached little league baseball and Pop Warner football. He enjoyed attending his children’s sports and drama events.

As he got older, a favorite past-time was sitting with and visiting his friends in his man cave-the garage. There, sports talk was the center of conversation. Lenny was a NE Patriots fan and in keeping with his father’s tradition, a NY Yankee fan also.

Lenny was very proud of his Italian heritage and made the best meatballs, sauce and porketta. Another one of Lenny’s joys were his chocolate labs, Fred & Ethel. He has had chocolate labs in his home for the past twenty-four years.

Along with his beloved wife of thirty-six years, he is survived by his two children: Christina Oliveri of Milford MA and Michael Oliveri and his girlfriend Cassandra Valaouras of Boston MA; his sister Jennifer (Oliveri) and her husband Bruce Dearborn of Milford MA. He also leaves another sister, Lee Oliveri of Milford MA and a sister-in-law & brother-in-law: Marilyn and Dean Alofs of Scarborough ME; Lenny also has a dear niece: Lisa Oliveri and two nephews: Garrett Alofs and Jake Alofs and a grandnephew: Donovan Alofs. Lenny also leaves our family’s dear friend Donna Sammarco.

His funeral will be held Wednesday (June 23rd) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (UPPER CHURCH), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA.
