Linda Ostaski Obituary

Mrs. Linda M. (Blessing) Ostaski, 71, of Milford MA died Sunday (November 21, 2021) at the Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing in Northborough MA after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Lynn E. Ostaski.

 

Linda was born in Mineola NY, the daughter of the late Paul and the late Katherine (Setzer) Blessing. She was a graduate of John Glenn High School in Northport NY and received her bachelor’s degree from New Paltz College. She also attained her master’s degree in education from New Paltz College.

 

Linda was first employed as a young woman as an elementary school teacher in New York. She then worked for 25 years as an elementary school art teacher for the Marlborough MA public school system, teaching at the Richer School & the Jaworek School.

 

Linda retired after 37 years as a teacher and had been the recipient of a Distinguished Service Award from the Marlborough School Superintendent. She had also served on various school councils over the years. Linda also taught art courses at the Worcester Art Museum.

 

Linda  was a former member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association and a member of the Massachusetts Retired Teachers Association. She was also a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Milford MA.

 

Along with her beloved husband of 47 years, she is survived by her 2 children: Michael T. Ostaski and his fiancée Karen Wood of Worcester MA and Valerie M. Ball and her husband Christopher of Swansea MA; 2 grandchildren: Connor Richard Ball and Natalie M. Ball of Swansea MA; 1 sister: Barbara E. Colgan and her fiancé David Morrill of New Milford CT; 1 brother-in-law: James Ostaski of Pittsfield MA; also several nieces & nephews.

 

Her funeral will be held Monday (November 29th) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be Sunday (November 28th) from 2pm to 4pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen Street, Suite #250, Framingham MA 01701.
