Mrs. Loreen A. (LaChapelle) Tavano, 79, of Milford MA died Saturday evening (October 11, 2025) at her residence after an illness. She was the beloved wife of Dennis P. Tavano.
Loreen was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late Lawrence L. LaChapelle and the late Eileen (Nealon) LaChapelle. She attended the former St. Mary’s Grammar School and was a graduate of the former St. Mary’s Central Catholic High School, Class of 1964. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Glee Club and the St. Mary’s Drill Team while in high school.
Loreen was first employed as a young woman at the US Army Natick Laboratories located in Natick MA, for several years in the Procurement Office. Upon her marriage to Dennis she became a devoted housewife & mother, dedicated to raising her family.
Loreen was a lifelong resident of Milford MA and a longtime communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Milford MA.
Loreen enjoyed playing Scrable & Words with friends. She also her shopping trips, going to the movies & to the casinos, and travelling with her husband Dennis. Her life was blessed with two great children and six wonderful grandchildren and Loreen always felt that time spent with them was the greatest gift she could receive. She was also the godmother to her niece, Jenna Martinese.
Along with her beloved husband of 58 years, she is survived by her 2 children: Paul Tavano and his wife Linda of Milford MA & Lynn Normandin and her husband Derek of Uxbridge MA; her 6 grandchildren: Ryan Normandin and his wife Katie of Newton MA, Kyle Normandin of Uxbridge MA, Tyler Normandin of St. Petersburg FL, Cody Normandin and his fiancée Molly Perry of Millbury MA, Dylan Tavano of Milford MA and Kallie Tavano of Milford MA; her 2 sisters: Eileen A. LaChapelle of Milford MA & Mary Jean Fostin of Milford MA; her brother: James LaChapelle and his wife Mary of Mendon MA; also her niece: Jenna Martinese and her husband Chris of Ashby MA.
In accordance with her wishes a Private Funeral will be held Thursday (October 16th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 10am on Thursday (October 16th) at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. A Private Committal Service will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
