MICHAEL J. VOLPE

Mr. Michael J. Volpe, 71, of Watertown MA and formerly of Milford MA passed away Monday evening (October 2, 2023) at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston MA after a year-long battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Maneeon (Phongsurat) Volpe.

Michael was born 1952 in Milford MA, the son of the late Joseph L. Volpe and the late Leonella (Colelli) Volpe. He attended the former Sacred Heart Grammar School and was a graduate of the former St. Mary’s Central Catholic High School, Class of 1970. He was also a graduate of the Mass College of Art in 1975 and continued graduate work at the Mass College of Art from 1975 to 1976.

Michael had resided most of his life in the greater Boston area and had worked as a designer in the home décor industry for many years.  From 1976 to 1978 he was involved with interior design at the Judge Baker Guidance Center/Boston Children’s Hospital. From 1979 to 1982 he worked in product design, manufacturing & marketing for Message Minder.

From 1983 to 1998 he owned & operated an import business, Luzon Imports, with his then-wife Lucia. From 1999 to 2004 he was involved with product design & QVC television sales at the Four Star Trading Company. From 2005 to 2009 he and his wife Bo owned & operated Thai Thai Kitchen located in Newton MA, and finally from 2010 to 2014 he returned to his love for home décor, where he worked in interior and exterior home painting. Michael retired in 2015.  

Along with his beloved wife, he is survived by his children: Chaela Volpe of Los Angeles CA, Cristina Jonns, her husband Chris, and children Mila, Siena, & Roman of New York City, NY, and Eric Volpe, his wife Nancy, and his children Kaius & Josephina of New York City, NY; also his sisters: Camilla Amandolare and her husband Albert of Milford MA and Susan Baker and her husband Larry of Lafayette, Louisiana.

Relatives & friends are invited to extend their condolences to Michael’s family on Thursday (October 12th)  from 5pm  to 7pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow.
