Marian Louise (Stewart) Murphy

Mrs. Marian Louise (Stewart) Murphy, 93, of Portland Maine and formerly of Hopedale MA  passed away on Sunday (December 8, 2024) at Fallbrook Woods in Portland Maine. She was the beloved wife of the late William F. Murphy who died in 2007.

Marian was born in Ellsworth, Maine, one of four children to Harold and Frances (Salisbury) Stewart.

Marian attended Springvale and Sanford (Maine) schools, graduating from Sanford High School in 1949. In 1952 she married the love of her life, Bill Murphy.

Marian loved music, animals, ice skating, bowling, and spending time with friends and family.

She leaves behind her daughter Donna, of Eastport ME and son Michael and his wife, Linda, of North Providence RI; as well as two grandchildren, Amanda (husband Anthony Martens) and Emily. She has one great-grandchild, Theodore, and many nieces and nephews.

Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, brothers Harold and Charles, and sister Eleanor.

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday (January 18th) at 11:00AM at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA, with a visiting hour from 10:00AM to 11:00AM, prior to her Memorial Service.
