Marie Elena (Byron) Mulligan

Mrs. Marie E. (Byron) Mulligan, 68, of Uxbridge MA and formerly Milford MA died unexpectedly (June 19, 2023) at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late John W. Milligan Jr., who died in 2020.

Marie was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late Francis Byron and the late Mary (Garagliano) Byron. She was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1972.

Marie was employed for many years for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts working as an administrator at the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission from 1989 until her retirement in 2018. Prior to that she had been employed at Moisture Systems Corporation located in Hopkinton MA.

Marie had been a resident of Uxbridge MA since 1992, and prior to that had resided in Milford MA. She loved cooking & baking for her family gatherings. She also loved to re-finish custom furniture and doing all kinds of crafts, including doll making. She also loved making her “world famous” anisette. But her favorite past time was spoiling her beloved pet dog “Byron”.

Marie is survived by her 2 sons: Patrick Mulligan and his companion Robin Gawron of Gorham ME & John Paul Mulligan and his companion Erika of Rutland MA; her twin brother: Wayne Byron and his wife Linda Hopkin of Bellingham MA; her niece: Andrea Zagaglia and her husband Mark Zagaglia of Bellingham MA; her nephew: Jonathan Calcagni  and his companion Monica Martinez of NH; her grandnephew: Marky Zagaglia of Bellingham MA. She is also survived by her beloved pet dog "Byron".

Marie was the sister of the late Anthony Byron.

In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place. A Celebration of her Life will be held SATURDAY (July 1st) from 12 NOON to 2pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.
