Mary Boucher Obituary

Mary K. (Dillon) Boucher, 87, of Milford MA & Framingham MA, died Monday (May 18, 2020) at Medway Country Manor Nursing Home in Medway MA after a period of declining health.

 

Mary was born in Providence RI, the daughter of the late William D. and the late Jane (Connley-Ward) Dillon. She attended Milford public schools, graduating from Milford High School, Class of 1950.

 

Mary was first employed as a young woman at the former New England Telephone Company in Milford MA and in the accounting department at the Fenwal Corporation in Ashland MA. She later was employed at Program Planning for Parents of Retarded & Autistic Children and later as House Mother for “Right to Life” for Ladies in RI and Cape Cod. She also worked for Companions to the Elderly.

 

While residing in Milford MA she was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and a member of the Catholic Women’s Club. She was also a member & past president of the Framingham Catholic Women’s Club.

 

Mary was also active in working with Parents & Programs for Retarded Citizens in the Framingham area, where she resided for twenty-six years, being the mother of an autistic son. She was past-president of the Association for Retarded Citizens – South Middlesex Area. She was also a CCD teacher in Framingham Catholic Parishes, prior to attending Emmanuel College in 1977, where she was certified in Educational & Pastoral Ministry in 1979. Mary also assisted the Rector of Pope John XXIII Seminary in Weston MA. She also spent time teaching tennis at the YMCA and the Framingham Parks Department.

 

Mary is survived by two sons; Edward Boucher Jr. and his wife Maryanne of Hyannis MA and David W. Boucher of Saugus MA; also her two grandchildren: MaryLou Boucher of Quincy MA and Arthur Boucher of Cotuit MA. She was the sister of the late William Dillon.

 

Due to the COVID-19 social gathering restrictions a Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA followed by a Private Committal Service in St. Mary's Cemetery in Milford MA.
