Mary Chianese Obituary

Mrs. Mary Jane (Normadin) Chianese, 100, of Uxbridge MA and formerly of Milford MA died Sunday (March 9, 2025) at her residence in Uxbridge after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony P. Chianese who died in 1974.

 

Mary Jane was born in North Uxbridge MA, the daughter of the late Edward J. Normandin and the late Evelyn (Poudrier) Normandin. She attended the former Good Shepherd Grammar School and was a graduate of Uxbridge High School.

 

Mary Jane grew up in Uxbridge MA and moved to Milford MA when she married her beloved late husband, Anthony P. Chianese. Upon the untimely death of her husband Anthony, she established & operated a family day care center in her home for many years. In 2006 she moved back to Uxbridge MA to reside with her daughter, Mona Lench and her family.

 

Mary Jane enjoyed all kinds of crafts and was most happy when her family was around her. She was a woman of strong faith and loved her parish church, Sacred Heart of Jesus in Milford MA. Whatever God sent her, whether good or bad she always accepted it with grace. She always told her family that there was no point in worrying, that things would always work out as God had planned.

 

Mary Jane is survived by her three children: Mona Lench and her husband Larry Lench of Uxbridge MA, Anthony P. Chianese Jr. and his wife Margaret of Mendon MA and Lori Hillier and her husband Ernest Hillier of Dudley MA; her four grandchildren: Larry “Boo” Lench of Uxbridge, who was her caregiver for the past few years, Karen Ross and her daughters Abby & Ella of Dudley MA, Anthony Hillier and his daughter Trinity of Webster MA and Michaela Hillier of Uxbridge MA; also many nieces & nephews.

 

Mary Jane is also survived by her “adoptive family” Ralph & Charlene D’Onofrio of Upton MA and their children David A. D’Onofrio and his children Dominick & Giovanni of Valley Center CA; Julie A. (D’Onofrio) Gallant and her husband Kenny Gallant and their daughters Cecilia & Emilia of Milford MA and the late Michael D. D’Onofrio and his wife Kathy D’Onofrio and their daughters Isabella & Sophia of West Roxbury MA.

 

Mary Jane was the sister of the late Leo Normandin & his wife Phyllis of Douglas MA; the late Arthur Normandin of Uxbridge MA; the late Theresa (Normandin) Dunbar of Uxbridge MA and the late Yvonne (Normandin) Sabatino of Uxbridge MA.

 

Relatives & friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Monday (March 17th) at 10am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
