MaryAnn SanClemente Obituary

Mrs. MaryAnn (Bernabeo) SanClemente, 80, of Torrance CA and formerly of Milford MA died Wednesday (August 21, 2024). She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard SanClemente, who died in 1994.

MaryAnn was born in Quincy MA, the daughter of the late Louis Bernabeo and the late Anna (Tantillo) Bernabeo. She received her bachelor degree in education from Bridgewater State University.

MaryAnn was raised in Quincy MA and later resided in Middleborough MA during her college and early working years with her Aunt Frannie, Uncle Victor, and cousins Mary (Jacobs) and David Bernabeo. Upon her marriage to her husband, Lennie, she moved to Milford MA where they raised their three children. More recently, MaryAnn had been residing in California to be with her son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter.

MaryAnn began her successful career in education teaching third grade at the Union Street School in Middleborough MA, and later was employed in the Holliston MA school system.

MaryAnn was an accomplished pianist and organist. For many years she held the position of organist at various local churches, and she considered it a privilege and joy to perform on the pipe organ at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Milford MA where she was a communicant for many years.

MaryAnn was a dedicated member of the Northborough Area Community Chorus, as well as a longtime participant in a Milford book club where she made many treasured friendships. She loved spending time at the beach with family and friends, growing and arranging flowers, and creating many types of art, especially watercolor paintings. With a profound love for classical compositions and oldies, she cherished many hours playing the piano and listening to music.

MaryAnn is survived by her three children: Carol Bird and her husband Joseph of Bellingham MA, Joseph SanClemente and his wife Amanda of Torrance CA, and James SanClemente and his wife Kristin of Uxbridge MA, as well as grandchildren: Katie Bird and Jack Bird of Bellingham MA, Isabelle SanClemente of Torrance CA and Emma SanClemente of Uxbridge MA.

MaryAnn’s funeral will be held Friday (August 30th) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA.
