Michael J. Laramee

Mr. Michael J. Laramee, 41, of Milford MA died unexpectedly on Sunday (August 8, 2021) in Milford MA. He was the beloved son of John J. Laramee and Judith (Mancini) Laramee.

Michael was born in Framingham MA and had attended Milford public schools, graduating from Milford High School, Class of 1998. He then received his bachelor’s degree from UMASS-Amherst in 2002 and then attended University of Miami, where he attained his master’s degree & PhD.

While attending the University of Miami in pursuit of his PhD he taught graduate students as a teaching assistant and also spent a period of time in Nigeria working with Nigerian film makers & producers. He later became a lecturer & full-time professor at Lasell University located in Newton MA.

While attending Milford High School he was a standout member of the men’s varsity basketball team that participated in the State Finals championship game & the team was elected into the MHS Athletics Hall of Fame. He was named to the District All-Star Team as part of that team.

Michael was an avid Bob Dylan fan, as well as an avid Boston Celtics & Boston Red Sox fan. Michael resided in Milford for most of his life.

Michael is survived by his mother: Judith A. (Mancini) Laramee of Milford MA; his father: John J. Laramee and his wife Theresa Landers of Bridgton ME; his 3 siblings: Donna M. Frederick of Milford MA, Scott Laramee and his wife Kim of Walnut Creek CA and Jason Frederick and his partner Lisa Phillips of Milford MA; his niece: Stevie-Grace Frederick of Milford MA; also several aunts, uncles & cousins.

Relatives & friends are invited to extend their condolences to his family on Thursday (August 12th) from 5pm to 7pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home. In accordance with his wishes cremation will follow.
