Michael Moffi Obituary

Mr. Michael A. Moffi, 81, of Holliston MA, died Wednesday (September 10, 2025) at his residence after a prolonged illness. He was the beloved husband of Barbara J. (Heaslip) Moffi.

Born in Milford MA, Michael was the son of the late Louis F. Moffi and the late Anna F. (Tessicini) Moffi. He attended Milford schools, graduating from Milford High, class of 1961. After his tour of duty (1961-1965) in the US Navy, he earned an associate’s degree from the former Newbury College.

A proud Viet Nam War veteran, Michael carried the lessons of service, loyalty, camaraderie, and resolve through the rest of his life.

Mike began his career as a union electrician with the IBEW Local Union in Boston, MA and later joined Raytheon Corporation where he worked for 35. He formed friendships that lasted decades and were still a steady presence in his life.

He was an active member of the former BelView Club and the Hoboken Citizens Club in Milford, where he loved a good card game with old high school friends. He was also a longstanding member of the Boston Cured Cancer Club for Laryngectomees.

Michael loved the open road and was always up for a trip, long or short, especially to Charleston, SC, Pass-A-Grille, FL, and anywhere in between. His first love, though, was the coast of Maine in every season. He loved swapping stories with waitstaff, hotel clerks, and fellow travelers leaving each one with a smile, believing the best part of the journey was the company.

Above all, Mike loved his family. Along with his beloved wife of 64 years, he is survived by his four children: Laureen Haskell and her husband John of Hopedale MA, Sean Moffi and his wife Kim of Swansea MA, Melissa Power of Barrington RI, and Jayme Moffi and his wife Bethany of Boston MA. He was adored by and always entertained his six grandchildren: Heather Haskell, John Haskell and his wife Adrienne, Riley and Benjamin Power, Lucia and Nico Moffi and his three great grandchildren: Bryce, Aaron and Ella Haskell. He is also survived by his niece, Dr Sarah Corey of Marshfield, MA and sisters-in-law Maureen Foley of Mendon, MA and Kathleen Corey of Thetford, VT. He was the father of the late Michael L. Moffi.

Mike was an unfailingly happy man who refused to let health challenges dim his spirit. He loved life, cherished people, and had a gift for turning everyday moments into stories worth telling. He will be deeply missed by his family and the many, many lives he touched.

His funeral will be held Wednesday (September 17) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main Street, Milford, MA. In accordance with his wishes cremation will follow. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday (September 16) from 5pm to 8pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Boston Cured Cancer Club for Laryngectomees c/o Andre Charpentier, 13 Bryson Dr, Norton, MA  02766    or to   the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Division of Development, 10 Brookline Place West, Floor 6, Brookline MA  02445  or @ www.dana-farber.org .

As Mike would say before any trip: “Let’s go!”
