Mrs. Miriam P. (Kavanagh) Milani, 89, of Milford MA and formerly of Blackstone MA, died Friday (November 10, 20203) at Countryside Healthcare of Milford after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard A. Milani, who died in 1973.
Miriam was born in Boston MA, the daughter of the late Thomas F. Kavanagh and the late Mary A. (O’Connor) Kavanagh. She was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1951 and also attended the former Chandler Secretarial School, located in Boston MA.
Miriam was first employed as a young woman as a secretary for the President of Wellesley College. She then became a devoted housewife & mother raising her family until the untimely death of her husband in 1973. She returned to the workforce, working as a secretary for the Milford public school system until her retirement in 2001.
Miriam was a very generous person and would do anything for her family members & her friends. She loved to play the piano and loved to sing and also loved listening to and singing along with Frank Sinatra. But her favorite past time was spending time with her beloved family members, especially her grandchildren & her great grandchildren.
Miriam is survived by her 3 children: Patricia M. Partlow of Blackstone MA, Mary Alice Miller and her husband Harry A. Miller Jr. of Mendon MA and John A. Milani and his wife Brigit of Millville MA; her daughter-in-law: Johnna Cooley of Douglas MA; her 8 grandchildren: Jessica Partlow and her partner Daniel Gauvin of Blackstone MA, John Partlow and his wife Jennifer of Blackstone MA, Jennifer Crounse and her husband Ryan Crounse of Buckeye AZ, Alicia Miller and her companion Max Tanzer of Washington DC, Danielle Sarkar and her husband Raj Sarkar of Somerville MA, Anthony Milani of Franklin MA, Brianna Beaupre of Uxbridge MA and Vincent Lennox and his wife Hanah of Cranston RI; her 14 great grandchildren: Jacob Trezzi, Cailyn Trezzi, Nora Partlow, Walker Crounse, Maija Beaupre, Aria Beaupre, Sofia Beaupre, Lillianna Beaupre, Hudson Lennox, Kinsley Crounse, Maverick Lennox, Violet Lennox, Lucas Partlow and Lila Gauvin; also several nieces & nephews.
Miriam was the mother of the late David Milani & the mother of the late Richard T. Milani.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday (November 15th) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (UPPER CHURCH), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday (November 14th) from 5pm to 7pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.
