Peter Michael Carney

Mr. Peter M. Carney, 71, of West Baldwin ME and formerly of Hopedale MA died unexpectedly at his residence. He was the husband of the late Rosalyn A. (DeLoia) Arsenault Carney who died in 2017.

Peter was born in Rome NY, the son of the late Bernard J. Carney and the late Josephine (Ostroski) Carney. He attended public schools in Hopedale MA, graduating from Hopedale High School. He then attended Rochester School of Art & Science. After college he held positions throughout the art industry.

Peter loved photography and could be found many times wandering with his camera, capturing the most perfect photos. He had a natural talent of seeking out nature’s gifts. He always was so excited to share his beautiful work with his sisters & friends. He also loved relaxing at home and spending time with his beloved family members.

Along with his parents and his wife, Peter was pre-deceased by his sister Kathleen Carney, who died in 2010.

Peter is survived by his 3 sisters: Sheila Mancuso, Colleen Iacovelli and her husband Michael, Susan Krikorian and her husband Charles; his nieces & nephews: Jeffrey Mancuso, Nina, Kailin, Iris & Jonathan; also several grandnieces & grandnephews.

In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, 187 Hopedale Street, Hopedale MA on WEDNESDAY (June21st)  at 10am.    A Private Committal Service in Hopedale Village Cemetery will follow his Funeral Mass. There are no visiting hours.    

In lieu of flowers, the family highly encourages that donations be made in Peter's memory to The St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-9959 or that you plant a Memorial Tree in Peter's memory.
