Pierina Ramelli Obituary

Pierina M. Ramelli, 102, died peacefully at Countryside Health Care, Milford, MA, March 29,2023.

 

Poppy, as she was known, was born to Antonio & Albina (Felloni) Ramelli and lived throughout her life at Mt. Pleasant Street in Milford, MA. As the youngest of her seven siblings Poppy is predeceased by her brothers Andrea Ramelli, Charles Ramelli and Louis Ramelli and her sister Jenny (Ramelli) Longo, Mary (Ramelli) Zeni, Lena (Ramelli) Vesperi and Louise M. (Ramelli) Bodio, as well as numerous nieces & nephews.

 

 She never married and is a polio survivor. Poppy graduated from Milford High School in 1938 and was later employed there as Secretary to the Principal for 46 years, retiring in 1993.

 

An avid gardener, Poppy kept numerous flower gardens at her residence. She was fond of riding her bike on Cape Cod and had visited her family homestead in Italy as well as touring northern England with her nephew residing there.

 

Poppy Ramelli was a determined, clear-eyed, often opinionated woman of unmatched courage and conviction.

 

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. In accordance with her wishes her funeral services & burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA will be private. There are no visiting hours.
