Obituary

Mr. Richard J. Kelleher, 77, of Franklin MA died Sunday (July 30, 2023) at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Linda M. (Tedoldi) Kelleher.

 

Richard was born in Brighton MA, the son of the late Edward Kelleher and the late Helen (Stanton) Kelleher. He was a graduate of St. Columbkille Grammar School and St. Columbkille High School located in Brighton MA. He then attended Mass Bay Community College and also received a certificate degree from Sylvania Tech.

 

Richard was first employed as a young man as one of the co-owners of the “Soft As A Grape” T-shirt company. From there he began his successful career working in the high tech computer industry, working at Prime Computer, Banyon Networking, Bay Net, and finally at EMC Corporation.

 

Richard loved to play poker and he was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and NE Patriots fan. He was also a “foodie”, who loved to cook and loved to go to fine restaurants. He was a great chef, specializing in French cuisine. Richard also loved to go to Fino Field in Milford to watch John W. Powers Post American Legion baseball team.

 

Along with his beloved wife of 36 years, he is survived by his daughter: Nicole Mary DiVitto and her husband Steven DiVitto of Milford MA; his grandson: Luca DiVitto of Milford MA; his sister: Ann Cleary of Marshfield MA and formerly of Hull MA; and his nephew: Christopher Olivieri of Marshfield MA and formerly of Hull MA.

 

Richard was the brother-in-law of the late Michael Cleary.

 

In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place. A Celebration of his Life will take place on SATURDAY (September 16th) from 11am to 12 NOON at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. There are no funeral home visiting hours.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, 300 1st Avenue, Charlestown MA 02129.
