Robert O. Chilson

           Mr. Robert O. Chilson, 74, of Worcester MA and formerly Milford MA, died unexpectedly on Tuesday (March 20, 2018) at his residence.

            Mr. Chilson was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Lloyd and the late Beatrice (Munroe) Chilson. He attended Bellingham public schools. He was first employed at the former Milford Shoe factory and then later as a custodian at the former Stylon Corporation and at Digital Equipment Corporation in Milford.

            Mr. Chilson was an avid gardener and also loved to play billiards. He was also a longtime member of  “Bill & Friends”.

            He is survived by 2 Sons: Jeffrey M. Chilson of Milford MA and Robert O. “JR” Chilson Jr. of Fort Fairfield ME; 3 Siblings: Jean Dwinnell of Douglas MA, Gail, wife of Peter Sora of Viera FL and Carol Barbieri of Wauconda IL; 2 Half-Sisters: Barbara Merino-Mayper of Friendswood TX and Christine, wife of Tim Hall of Newark NY; also many nieces & nephews.

            He was the brother of the late David Chilson, the late James Walter Chilson, the late John Edward Chilson, the late Allan Chilson and the late Arlene Palmer. He was also the uncle of the late Lance Corporal Peter J. Sora Jr., USMC.

            In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place. Relatives & friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on  Wednesday (April 11th)  at 10AM in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial of his cremains will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA. There are no visiting hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. 

            In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army, 640 Main Street, Worcester MA 01608, where Robert volunteered often.
