Robert Locke Obituary

Robert J Locke, 63, of Milford MA passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2020, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  He is the best friend and beloved husband of Kathleen (Powers) Locke with whom he shared 40 years of marriage.

He was born in Coshocton, OH the son of the late John T. and Joan (Mehigan) Locke.  Along with his beloved wife Kathy, he is survived by his two children, daughter, Jamie (Locke) Starta, wife of Ben, and son, Brian Locke, his two cherished grandsons, Zachary and Justin Starta, brother William (Bill) Locke and his wife, Jacquelyn, and several nieces and nephews.  Additionally, he is survived by his brother-in-law, Robert Powers, his wife Linda, brother-in-law, Michael Guerra, his stepmother, Gail Locke and Aunt Yvette Locke of Agawam, MA, and far too many close cousins and friends to name.  He was also the brother-in-law of Patricia (Powers) Guerra, who passed away in April 2020.

Bob was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1975.  He went on to attend, play football for four years and graduate with Honors from Harvard University, Class of 1979.  Following his graduation from Harvard, he proudly served in the Marine Corps from 1979 to 1982, attaining the rank of Lieutenant.  He  was employed at Athenahealth, in Watertown, MA, as an Account Executive for the past 11 years.  Prior to that he held various positions in the logistics software industry.

He was an active member of The Harvard Varsity Club, and always remained an avid and loyal fan of Harvard football.  He loved to golf, work his projects around the yard and travel with Kathy to their favorite places.

However, anyone and everyone, who knew Bob, even for a moment, knew what was so special about him.  He changed every person’s life he ever touched, for the better, in a profound way.  As much time as he had for all of us, what was most special to him was spending as much time with his cherished grandsons, Zachary and Justin.

His funeral will be held Wednesday (August 12th) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA.
