Robert J. Mancuso

Mr. Robert J. Mancuso, 71, of Milford MA died Friday (September 9, 2022) at the UMASS-Memorial Medical Center in Worcester MA after an illness.

Robert was born in Milford MA, the son of the late James V. Mancuso and the late Betty Ann (Hixon) Mancuso. He attended Milford public schools and also attended the Laborer’s Training Center in Hopkinton MA.

Robert was first employed as a young man at the former Kartiganer Hat Factory located in Upton MA. He later was employed at Mid-State Tool & Engineering located in Milford MA. Following that he was employed as a carpet installer at the former David Holter Carpet Company located in Milford MA.

Robert was always into music and he loved playing the bass guitar & the harmonica. He also was an avid skier as a young man.

Robert endured many serious illnesses and when you would ask him how he was feeling he would reply "ok"" , never to complain. Even thru this Robert never missed a "Jam" at Dave's. He loved his brother Dave !!!!  He would road-e and lug equipment, help set it up for many "Gigs", Dave's bands would play and then break it down.

As a young boy Robert had a singing voice he rarely shared. He played the harmonica, this was influenced by his Gramma Hixon. It was a "Marine Band" that once belonged to his Great Grandmother.

Robert had a son with Anne Giampietro. Although he was an absent father, Justin included him in many happy times with his Grandchildren. Robert loved his cousin Paul and Marsha. Their children knew him as "Uncle Bobby".  Robert had a dry sense of humor, he could mumble a comment that would crack you up. 

Everyone that knew Robert all agreed that he had "13"  lives and lived every one of them the way He wanted.

Robert is survived by his son: Justin P Giampietro and his fiancée Nicole Vandervalk and their children, James Giampietro & Anthony Giampietro; his sister: Jeannemarie Mancuso of Exeter NH; his brother: David W. Mancuso and his wife Naomi of Blackstone MA; his Godson: Mark R. P. Mancuso of Milford MA; his step-mother: Ruth Mancuso of Littleton MA; also several uncles & cousins.

In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his Graveside Committal Services in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cedar Street (Rte 85) in Milford MA on SATURDAY (October 1st) at 12 NOON. There are no visiting hours.
