Robert Piwko Obituary

Robert C. Piwko, CDR USN (ret), 87, of Milford MA died Sunday morning (December 15, 2024) after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Mary F. (Paciorek) Piwko.

Bob was born in Adams Massachusetts, the son of the late Clemens Piwko and the late Lillian (Gutowski) Piwko. He attended St. Stanislaus parochial school in Adams MA as a young boy. He then was a graduate of Adams Memorial High School, Class of 1954. Bob then attended and graduated from Purdue University, Class of 1958.

After his graduation from Purdue University, Bob proudly served in the US Navy (active duty and reserves) from 1959 to 1982, attaining the rank of Commander. He attained his master’s degree from George Washington University in 1965.

For most of his entire professional career, Bob was a quintessential technical sales representative enjoying meeting people and entertaining customers as part of his sales role at the Eastman Kodak Company for twenty five years followed by employment at National Graphics and Bacson Blueprint.  During his so called “retirement years”, Bob kept busy working as a “runner” for the local Milford Toyota car dealership. He also loved working as a salesperson at the Wayland Golf Store and found enjoyment working in team operations at Gillette Stadium for the New England Patriots.

Bob had been a resident of Milford MA since 1977, and prior to that had resided in Rockville MD and Rochester NY. He was a longtime communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Milford MA and also a longtime supporter of the Purdue University Alumnae Association and member of MOAA (Military Officers Association of America), Worcester County Chapter.

Bob was an avid golfer, sports fanatic, and was very proud of being a US Navy veteran and alumnus of Purdue University. He would frequently be seen around town wearing his Purdue or US Navy hat along with other branded clothing items. He also loved traveling with his beloved wife Mary & other family members, and ultimately attained the coveted status in Marriott’s loyalty program of “Platinum for Life” of which he ensured everyone was aware.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years; his 3 children: Robert C. Piwko Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Sparta NJ, Paul M. Piwko and his wife Sandra of Milford MA and Ann M. McQuiston and her husband Scott of Webster MA; his 8 grandchildren: Zachary, Nicholas Piwko, Kimberly Piwko, Matthew Piwko, Margaret Piwko, Michael Piwko, Emma McQuiston and Kaitlyn McQuiston; also several nieces & nephews.
