Roger w. Robbins

Mr. Roger W. Robbins, 79, of Milford MA and formerly of Hopedale MA, died Wednesday (August 29, 2018) at Countryside Healthcare of Milford after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease for over thirty years. He was the beloved husband of Rita M. (Renda) Robbins.

Mr. Robbins was born in St. Albans VT, the son of the late Lee W. and the late Rita C. (Cunningham) Robbins. He attended Hopedale High School and Bentley College. He was also a graduate of the Williams School of Banking.

Mr. Robbins began his banking career in 1961 working at the former Home National Bank of Milord, working his way up to bank President & CEO from 1977 to 1989. He later worked as a consultant for the Lee W. Robbins Associates of Holliston MA from 1990 until his retirement.

Mr. Robbins had served on numerous boards and associations serving the greater Milford area during his time at the former Home National Bank of Milford. He was a longtime member of the American Bankers Association and the Massachusetts Bankers Association.

Mr. Robbins coached Little League Baseball and basketball for many years. Also while residing at Countryside Healthcare he had served as President of the resident’s council.

Along with his beloved wife of forty-nine years, he is survived by 2 Daughters: Rebecca O’Toole, wife of Patrick O’Toole of New York City NY and Roberta Berberian, wife of Mark Berberian of Lexington MA;                        4 Grandchildren: Sophie O’Toole & Fasil O’Toole of NYC, NY and Max Berberian & Lily Berberian of Lexington MA; several nieces & nephews and 1Son: Owen Robbins of Twin Falls ID.

Mr. Robbins was pre-deceased by a brother, Lee W. Robbins of Franklin MA and a son, Ronald Robbins of Hopedale MA.

His funeral will be held Monday (September 3rd) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (UPPER CHURCH), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. In accordance with his wishes cremation will follow. Visiting hours will be held Sunday (September 2nd) from 4pm to 7pm.
