Ronald F. "Ronny" Cahill

Mr. Ronald F. “Ronny” Cahill, 85, of Milford MA died Tuesday evening (May 17, 2022) at Medway Country Manor in Medway MA surrounded by his loving family after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Patricia “Patty” (Ring) Cahill.

Ronny was born in Milford MA, the son of the late J. Francis “Fitter” Cahill and the late Marguerite “Rita” (Midgley) Cahill. He attended Milford public schools, graduating from Milford High School, Class of 1954.

Ronny was a US Navy veteran having served from 1955 to 1959 on aircraft carriers  the USS Leyte and the USS Tarawa, achieving the rank of AE1.

Ronny had been employed at the former New England Telephone Company from 1959 to 1990, retiring as a central office foreman.

Ronny was a lifelong resident of Milford MA and a longtime communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church. He was also a member of the Dramatic Club of Milford and the Telephone Pioneers Club.

Along with his beloved wife of 60 years, he is survived by his 4 children: John Cahill and his wife Celeste of Uxbridge MA, Teresa Yost and her partner Matthew Wilson of Milford MA, Debra Hazard and her husband Shawn Hazard of Royersford PA and Jerald Cahill and his wife Julie of Milford MA; his 13 grandchildren: Emily Cahill, Madison Cahill, Kathryn Cahill, Ava Cahill, Megan Chasse, Shannon Yost, Kyle Yost, Devin Yost, Chelsea Feehery, Taylor Hazard, Hannah Hazard, Jacob Cahill and Andrew Cahill; his 4 great grandchildren: Landon Geary, Declan Geary, Natalie Yost and Finn Feehery; his sister: Brenda (Cahill) Niro of Milford MA; his sister-in-law & brother-in-law: Sharon and Walter Bacon of Franklin MA; his sister-in-law: Joan Lonowski of Grand Island NE; also numerous nieces & nephews.

He was the brother of the late Janet (Cahill) DePasquale; the brother-in-law of the late Frederick Ring Jr. and the brother-in-law of the late Joseph Niro.

His funeral will be held Tuesday (May 24th) at 11am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 NOON in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow, with Military Honors, in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be held Monday evening (May 23rd) from 5pm to 7pm.
