Rosa F. (Fontes) Pinto

Mrs. Rosa (Fontes) Pinto, 84, of Milford MA died unexpectedly on Wednesday (September 22, 2021) at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Amadeu G. Pinto, who died in 2005.

Rosa was born in Cambeses Portugal the daughter of the late Joao and the late Ana (Lourenco) Fontes. She attended grammar school in Portugal as a young girl.

Rosa came to the United States in 1976 and had been a resident of Milford MA since then. She had been employed at Waters Associates located in Milford MA.

Rosa was a longtime communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and a longtime member of the Portuguese Club of Milford. She also was a frequent visitor to the Milford Senior Center & loved to cook. Her faith was very important to her and loved going to church, but her favorite past-time was spending time with her grandchildren.

Rosa is survived by her 4 children: Ana C. Young of Milford MA, Lourdes C. “Cathy” Kelly of Wayland MA, Maria Irene Martins and her husband Delmar E. Martins of Framingham MA and Joao Miguel Pinto of Norton MA; her 9 grandchildren: Natasha Young, J. P. Young, John Kelly, Joseph Kelly, Katelyn Martins, Christian Martins, Isabella Martins, Josephine Pinto and Rose Pinto; her 5 siblings: Rev. Antonio Fontes of Portugal, Maria DeVila and her husband Jose of Portugal, Joal Fontes and his wife Maria of Milford MA, Domingos Fontes and his wife Fernanda of Milford MA and Joaquim Fontes and his wife Christina of Portugal; also many nieces & nephews.

Rosa was the sister of the late Manuel Fontes.

Her funeral will be held Monday (September 27th) at 10am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be held Sunday (September 26th) from 2pm to 4pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.
