Mrs. Rosemarie (Byron) Votolato, 86, of Milford MA died Saturday (June 9, 2018) at Beth Isreal Deaconess Medical Center in Boston MA surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Votolato, who died in 1967 and the loving mother of the late Mark Votolato, who died in 1998.
Mrs. Votolato was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late Thomas F. and the late Rose (Anzivino) Byron. She attended Milford public schools and was a graduate of the former St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1948. She also attended classes at Dean Junior College during her working years in the banking industry to receive certification.
As a young woman Mrs. Votolato was a devoted wife and mother. After raising her family, she began her long career in the banking industry first working at the former Bank of Boston. She later was employed for many years at the Milford National Bank & Trust Company, where she served as an assistant branch manager and later vice president of human resources, retiring in the late 1990’s. Following her banking career, she assisted her son, Steven, in the operations of his family owned company for seventeen years.
Mrs. Votolato was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and had been a member of the Milford Chamber of Commerce. She was an avid gardener, loved to read and watch movies. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family members and the many dear friends that she made in her life.
She is survived by her son: Steven R. Votolato and his wife Denise of Hopkinton MA; 3 Sisters: Margaret Ablondi of Milford MA, Joanne Tusino of Seekonk MA and Rita Tocchi of Milford MA; 1 Brother: Michael Byron of Milford MA; also several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and 2 great grand nephews: Finnegan Connell and Rens Hayes V. She was the sister of the late Carol Carboni and the late Thomas Byron.
Her funeral will be held Friday (June 15th) at 8am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (UPPER CHURCH), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be Thursday (June 14th) from 5pm to 8pm.
