Mrs. Rosemary A. (Trongone) Blatz, 85, of Hopedale MA died Tuesday (September 12, 2023) at the Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of Paul H. Blatz.
Rosemary was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late George N. Trongone and the late Elvira “Brownie” (Morelli) Trongone. She attended Milford public schools, attending Milford High School.
Rosemary was first employed as a young woman working part-time as a waitress in the family owned business, George’s Lunch, located in Milford MA. She later worked as a retail manager at the former Medex Store, located in Milford MA. Later in life she worked again as a waitress at various restaurants, including Johnny Jack’s, The Golden Spoon & Speroni’s Restaurant.
Rosemary was a devoted housewife & mother who volunteered as a Campfire Mother for her two daughters growing up. She was also an accomplished seamstress who made articles of clothing for her family members. She also loved to bake, and was famous for her cakes.
As a young woman she was stunningly beautiful and had been approached by the Prell Shampoo Company to serve as one of their representatives. Later in life, she became an avid antiques collector and enjoyed attending garage sales with her husband Paul.
Rosemary had resided in Hopedale MA for most of her life, and had grown up in Milford MA as a young woman.
Along with her beloved husband of 68 years, she is survived by her 3 children: Veralyn G. Blatz and her husband August Dufault of Marlborough MA, Loretta Henneberry and her husband Lawrence Henneberry of Mendon MA and Joseph Blatz and his wife Maria of Torrington CT; her 3 grandchildren: Alexandra Swarr and her husband Andrew of Milford MA, Nicole Blatz and her companion James Richard of Milford MA and Ashley Curley of Miami FL; her 4 great grandchildren: Samarah, Madison, Malikai and Vincent; her sister: Georgeann “Chicky” Trongone of Milford MA; also several nieces & nephews.
Rosemary was the sister of the late Nicholas Trongone and the late Nancy Pizzillo.
Funeral Services will be held Monday (September 18th) at 11:00AM at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Monday (September 18th) from 9am to 11am, prior to her Funeral Services.
