SSGT. Joshua W. Nunnally

US Army Staff Sergeant (SSG) Joshua W. Nunnally, age 41, died unexpectedly Wednesday, November 15, 2017.  He was a member of the 204th Military Intelligence Battalion at Fort Bliss, Texas. SSG Nunnally was the beloved son of Catherine M. (Whalen) Villani of Milford, MA. 

 

SSG Nunnally attended school as a young boy in North Richland Hills, TX and Watauga, TX.  He later attended school while residing here in Milford, MA.

 

SSG Nunnally began his more than 20-year military career with the Massachusetts Army National Guard before enlisting in the US Army.  During SSG Nunnally’s years of service he completed 1 tour in Iraq and 2 tours in Afghanistan and received numerous awards including four Army Commendation Medals, seven Army Achievement Medals, and a Combat Action Badge,

 

SSG Nunnally was a fan of professional sports (Red Sox, Red Wings and Patriots) and enjoyed playing ice hockey when he was not in the “sand box”.  He was also a motorcycle enthusiast and owned a classic “Norton” motorcycle.  SSG Nunnally will be truly missed by his unit, family and friends.

 

Along with his mother, SSG Nunnally is survived by his son, Holden J. Nunnally of Clarkston WA; his sister, Chloe Villani of Arlington TX; his brother, Antonio Villani of Arlington TX; his step-father, Loreto Villani of Arlington, TX; also, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and his father, Lawrence Nunnally.

 

His funeral, with Full Military Honors will be held Wednesday (November 29th) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne MA. Visiting hours will be Tuesday (November 28th) from 5pm to 8pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.
