Shirley St. John Obituary

Mrs. Shirley A. (Imbruno) St. John of Milford MA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday  (January 21, 2020). Shirley was the daughter of the late Daniel and Phyllis (Benedetto) Imbruno of Milford MA.

 

Shirley met her true love and soulmate, Bobby St. John, while in high school. They were married on October 7, 1961.

 

In addition to her devoted husband Shirley also leaves behind her son, Robert St. John Jr.; her granddaughter Katelyn St. John and Christine Jenkin, all of Miramar FL.

 

She is also survived by her brother Daniel Imbruno, her niece Dawn and her husband Howie Hochberg, her nephew David Imbruno and his wife Teresa and great nephews Lucas, Mason and Brody, all of Sarasota FL.

 

Shirley is also survived by her sister Janice and her brother-in-law Marc Fornaciari of Milford MA, her niece Danielle and her husband Patrick Murphy, great nieces Campbell and Kennedy of Wake Forest NC and her nephew Anthony Fornaciari of Uxbridge MA.

 

She also leaves behind a sister-in-law Linda Mastoianni of Milford MA, her nephews Michael Mastoianni and David Mastroianni and her niece Amy Crowley. Also her sister-in-law Sue St. John and her nephew Barry St. John and his wife Laurie and their children and niece Laura and her husband Troy Dupuis, all of Mendon MA. She was pre-deceased by her brothers-in-law Wallace St. John and David St. John.

 

Shirley was a member of the Milford High School Class of 1958. She was class vice-president, a member of the student council and a C.C.D. cheerleader. She was the recipient of the D.A.R. Award and she was a girls state delegate.

 

Shirley was a graduate of the Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene and worked at the offices of Dr. Michael Costrino and Dr. Nicholas Micelotta for many years.

 

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Hopedale MA and a school volunteer at Brookside PTO. She got great pleasure in donating to various charitable organizations.

 

Shirley enjoyed retirement, visiting family in Florida, taking cruises, gardening, shopping, collecting antiques and spending time with her family and many friends. She was a loving, caring and giving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend.

 

In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place. Her funeral will be held Wednesday (January 29th)

from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in Sacred Heart Church, 187 Hopedale Street, Hopedale MA. A visiting hour will be held Wednesday (January 29th) from 9:30am to 10:30am, prior to her Funeral Mass.
