Thomas Klein Obituary

Thomas “Tom, Tommy” Klein passed away unexpectedly on May 10, 2025.

Surviving Tom are his siblings Robert Klein, Jr. (Lori), Jane Klein (Mark Rogers), Joan Klein, Michael Klein (Tina), and Timothy Klein (Voach), his sons Craig Klein (Kristina) and Corey Klein (Kimberly), seven grandchildren: Farrah Klein, Craig Klein, Jr., Lily Klein, and Ryn Klein, Elias Rivera, Bryce Fontaine & Austin Fontaine,  many nieces and nephews, lots of cousins, and some dear friends.

There weren’t many hobbies he enjoyed. However, one of Tom’s favorite things in life was sports. Almost any sport! But his all-time favorite team was the Boston Bruins. It was easy to see in the Bruins clothes, hats, coats, posters, blankets, etc. he had. In high school he played baseball and soccer, but surely would have played hockey if there was a team!

Playing the lottery was another hobby. He loved buying scratch tickets and playing Power Ball and Mega Millions, hoping for that one big win.

Family was most important. Few saw the loving, affectionate side of Tom. He loved to joke around and make people laugh with his unique, quirky, sometimes sarcastic sense of humor that he hid behind, but those he loved, he loved deeply. Never forgetting a birthday or holiday, loved ones received phone calls. Although he didn’t have much, he would share whatever he had with anyone who needed it, being generous to a fault. And the lucky ones would gets hugs and an “I love you.” If Tom chose you as a friend, you were fortunate.

After high school, Tom joined the US Army, serving for 4 years. While stationed in Okinawa, he was invited to join the All-Army baseball team. After the Army, Tom worked at various manufacturing jobs. Swissturn USA was his longest job, where he worked as a supervisor/inspector making ball-bearings and small metal parts for medical equipment. He also worked at the Benajmin Moore plant making paint.

Tom was a man with simple wants and needs. Very down to earth, with no pretense. He will be remembered for his humor, generosity, fierce protectiveness, and love. To know Tom was truly a blessing.

In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place. There will be no formal funeral services or visiting hours.

Donations in Tom's memory may be made to Soldier On, 360 West Housatonic Street, Pittsfield MA 01201.
