Mrs. Violet K. “Vi” (Lima) Sherman, 84, of Milford MA died Tuesday (March 12, 2024) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after an illness. She was the beloved wife of Michael P. Mezzadri Sr.
Vi was born in Taunton MA, the daughter of the late John Lima and the late Virginia (Rose) Lima. She attended Taunton public schools.
Vi was first employed as a young woman as a sales clerk in a department store in Taunton MA. She then became a “stay at home mom” in order to raise her family. Later in life she was co-owner & co-operator of the former Family Value Center store located on Main Street in Milford MA. Following that she was employed at the deli counter at the former Rico’s Supermarket located in Franklin MA and then spent many years as a home health aide assisting the elderly.
Vi loved to work with all kinds of crafts and especially loved making wreaths. She also loved to watch her favorite soap opera, “Days of Our Lives”. She was also a cat lover and was devoted to her pet cats. As a young woman she loved music and took great pleasure in playing the piano & singing with her brothers.
Vi is survived by her beloved husband of over 37 years, Michael; her 5 children: Cynthia L. Sherman of Milford MA, Jacquelyn A. Sherman-Herne and her husband David Herne of Uxbridge MA, Michael P. Mezzadri Jr. and his wife Patty of Franklin MA, Robert G. Mezzadri and his husband Jim Todaro of West Dennis MA and Timothy J. Mezzadri and his wife Teresa of Bellingham MA; her 7 grandchildren: Brittany, Andrea, Michael, Nicholas, Marissa, A.J., and Aiden; her 3 great grandchildren: Mia, Ashton and Zoe; her sister: Veronica Donnelly from Taunton MA; her brother: Leonard Lima and his wife Susan of Brockton MA; also several nieces & nephews.
Vi was the sister of the late Virginia Booker; the late John Lima; the late Irving Lima and the late Richard Lima.
Her funeral will be held Monday (March 18th) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be Sunday (March 17th) from 2pm to 4pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.
