Mr. William A. Lavan, 72, of Milford MA died Monday (June 27, 2022) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after an illness. He was the beloved husband of Georgina (Burgan) Lavan.
William was born in the Harlem section of New York City, the son of the late John and the late Gertrude (Boswell) Lavan. He attended public schools in New York City as a young boy and later attended Wentworth Institute.
William had been employed for many years as a HVAC technician at Boston Properties, from which he retired.
William loved to go fishing, but his favorite past-time was spending time with his beloved family.
Along with his beloved wife of 46 years, he is survived by his son: Joshua Lavan of Taunton MA; his 3 grandchildren: Malik William Lavan, Christian Rachel Lavan & Araya Georgina Lavan, all of Taunton MA; his 7 siblings: Robert Lavan of Florida, John Lavan of New York, Austin Lavan of New York, Paul Lavan of New York, Kenneth Lavan of California,Eva Helen Garcia of California and Gertrude Lavan of Georgia; many nieces & nephews; and his mother-in-law: Mrs. Addie Burgan of Natick MA.
William was the beloved father of the late Manuel W. Lavan of Milford MA who died in 2017 and the devoted brother of the late Vincent Lavan of New York.
In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place. A Celebration of his Life Service will take place at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA on Sunday (July 10th) at 3pm. A visiting hour will be held Sunday (July 10th) from 2pm to 3pm, prior to the Celebration of Life Service.
