Zilda DeBarcelos

Zilda DeBarcelos, 76, of Milford MA died Tuesday (January 31, 2023) at her residence after an illness.

Zilda was born in Urupema Brazil, the daughter of the late Tiburcio DeBarcelos and the late Dautina (Matos) DeBarcelos. She attended public schools in Brazil, graduating from high school.

Zilda had been employed as a teacher in Brazil as a young woman where she taught typewriting. Later in life she was employed as a municipal worker for the Town of Rio do Sul in Brazil, where she resided. She has resided in Milford since 2016.

Zilda loved nature and loved to do gardening.  She also was an animal lover, especially of cats & dogs. Family was very important to Zilda, she was devoted to her siblings back in Brazil and also enjoyed spending time with her 5 grandchildren. But most importantly she was a devoted mother to her twin daughters Pier Paula & Jian Carla, giving them unconditional love and the gift of faith & love of Jesus Christ.

Zilda is survived by her 2 daughters: Pier Paula Barcelos Oliveira and her husband Junior de Oliveira of Milford MA & Jian Carla Barcelos Fronza and her husband Jean Carlos Fronza of Milfdord MA; her 5 grandchildren: David (age 18), Christian (age 17), Bianca (age 13), Camila (age 12) and Pietra (age 7); her 3 siblings: Marcolino DeBarcelos of Brazil, Maurina Walter of Brazil and Evandina Petry of Brazil; also many nieces & nephews.   

In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday evening (February 8th) from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home.
