Cornelia A. "Connie" (Owens) Neilan

           Mrs. Cornelia A. “Connie” (Owens) Neilan, 86, of Milford MA, died Monday (September 28, 2015) at Milford Regional Medical Center after an illness surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Neilan, owner of the former Neilan’s Pharmacy, who died in 1982.

 

            Mrs. Neilan was born in Lynn MA, the daughter of the late Cornelius and the late Mary (Keville) Owens. She attended St. John the Evangelist Grammar School in Swampscott MA and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1947. She also attended Burdett College in Boston MA.

 

            Mrs. Neilan was first employed as a licensed insurance agent at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company working in the Boston office. She later was employed as the manager of the gift shop at the former Milford Hospital. She later was employed as a service representative at the Boston Five Cent Savings Bank, working in the Framingham & Quincy locations.

 

            Mrs. Neilan is survived by her 6 Children: Robert E. Neilan Jr. and his wife Sandra of Mendon MA, Sean G. Neilan and his wife Lourdes of Suffolk VA, Brian C. Neilan and his wife Sally of Chesapeake VA, Ann C., wife of James Roth of Louisville KY, Patrick F. Neilan of Philadelphia PA and Timothy G. Neilan and his wife Deborah of Swampscott MA; 10 Grandchildren: Erin and Lauren Neilan of Mendon MA, Aisling and Brittany Neilan of Suffolk VA, Michael Neilan of Chesapeake VA, Matthew, Andrew and Mara Roth of Louisville KY, Owen and Benjamin Neilan of Swampscott MA; also several nieces & nephews.

 

            Mrs. Neilan was the mother of the late Kevin J. Neilan who died in 2009; the grandmother of the late Stephen Owen Neilan who died in 1990; and the sister of the late Dorothy Brennan of Lynn MA, the late Eileen Vincent of Simsbury CT and the late Marion Brine of Narragansett RI.

 

            Her funeral will be held Saturday (October 3rd) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be Friday (October 2nd) from 5pm to 8pm.                                

 

            In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Milford Regional Medical Center  or to the Oliva Family Cancer Comfort Fund, both c/o the Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation, 14 Prospect Street, Milford MA 01757.
