Janet C. (Bouchard) Klein

Mrs. Janet C. (Bouchard) Klein, 84, known as “Ma, Nana, Auntie Bib, Jan, Jeanette,” passed away on Tuesday (July 7, 2015).

Born in Mendon, raised in Milford and a resident of Mendon for the past 55 years, Janet was most proud of her family. Predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Klein, Sr. in 1994, she is survived by her “blessings,” Robert Klein Jr. and wife Lori of McMinnville, OR, Jane Klein and  mate Mark Rogers of Anoka, MN, Joan Klein and husband Rotimi Adeojo of Providence, RI, Thomas Klein of Milford, MA, Michael Klein and wife Tina of Pittsfield, MA, and Timothy Klein and wife Voach of Mendon, MA. Thirteen grandchildren (Shawn, Adam, Justin, Robert,Amelia, Connar, Jamie, Craig, Corey, Michael II, Emily, Kim and Linda) and 18 great grandchildren were additional blessings, along with a plethora of nieces and nephews. Also surviving Janet are two sisters-in-law, Virginia Bouchard of Durham, NC and Claire Bouchard of Milford, MA and friends of 80 years Kathleen Tosches, Ella Goneau, Alice DePalma, Joanne Pratt, Sr. Claire Belforti SSJ and Sr. Theresa Lucier SSP.

Janet was the daughter of the late Henry and Delina (Jacques) Bouchard. The youngest of eight children, she is predeceased by brothers Henry, Dona, Arthur, Wilfred, and Ernest Bouchard and sisters Marion Taylor and Irene Aldrich.

As a bookkeeper, Janet worked at Milford Federal Savings and Loan, Certified Sales and the Mendon Country Gift Barn. Even in the tough years, Janet was an avid Red Sox fan. Reading, crossword puzzles, cribbage and playing on her Kindle were some of her favorite past times. All who knew her were blessed by her loving heart, ready smile, polite manner, willingness to help and appreciation for any favor done, big or small. Janet wanted to express her thanks to her six children, extended family and lifelong and longtime friends for filling her life with love and happiness.

When Janet’s husband died, at the service more and more chairs were brought in to seat everyone. Her then five year old grandson asked her, “Nana, where are we going to dance?” Janet wants everyone to know, NOW is the time to dance and sing and celebrate her life.

Funeral services  will be Saturday (July 11th)  at 2PM at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Swandale Cemetery in Mendon MA. Visiting hours will be Saturday afternoon from 1pm to 2pm, prior to her funeral service.

Daisies and carnations were her favorite flowers. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Janet.
