Mr. Gabriele “Jibber” B. Fornaciari Jr., 77, of Franklin MA and formerly of Milford MA, passed away peacefully Thursday (June 25, 2015) at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester MA with family by his side.
Jibber was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Gabriele and the late Ellentena (Mainini) Fornaciari Sr. He attended Sacred Heart of Jesus parochial school where he was an altar server and was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1955, where he served as class treasurer. He also attended Worcester State College.
His good nature and friendly smile followed him throughout his successful capacities of employment in various grocery and market chains, first working as a young man at Catella’s Market in Milford MA.
He was a salesman for the De Petrini Grocery Store and continued in the seafood and deli department at both Brunelli’s and at Star Market in Milford, then moved to Angelo’s Grocery chain in the capacity of seafood and deli merchandiser and buyer. Jibber retired as a buyer from Triangle Foods in 2012.
His happiest moments were spent when the family gathered each year for family reunions, and for family birthday celebrations. He delighted in attending his grandchildren’s activities from music to sports. He also enjoyed dancing, sports, his friends, and Friday lunches with his brother.
Mr. Fornaciari is survived by his daughter: Lisa Belisle and her husband Marc of Franklin MA; his son: Gabriele B. Fornaciari III and his wife Susan of Plainville MA; 3 Grandchildren: Gabrielle Belisle of Franklin MA, Alec Fornaciari and Jack Fornaciari of Plainville MA; also his sister: Veronica Glennon and her husband Thomas of Milford MA; her brother: Marc Fornaciari and his wife Janice of Milford MA; her sister: Roberta Simmons and her husband Jerry of Ione CA; many nieces & nephews and his longtime caretaker Erin Hougasian.
Mr. Fornaciari was the brother of the late Robert Fornaciari; the late Bruna Casto and the late Paula Krill.
His funeral will be held Monday (June 29th) t 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in the Lower Chapel of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be Sunday (June 28th) from 4pm to 7pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
