Cecelia E. (Cooper) Turner

Mrs. Cecelia E. (Cooper) Turner, 96, of Milford MA, died Tuesday (January 17, 2017) at Countryside Healthcare of Milford after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest A. Turner, who died in 2009.

 

Mrs. Turner was born in Natick MA, the daughter of the late Christopher and the late Celia (Phaneuf) Cooper. She attended Natick public schools, graduating from Natick High School, Class of 1938.

 

Mrs. Turner was first employed as a young woman as an office secretary. She later was employed for many years as a sales clerk at the Filene’s Department Store.

 

She is survived by 2 Daughters: Mary Ellen, wife of David M. Evers of Milford MA and Mrs. Patricia A. Orton of Milford MA; 4 Grandchildren: Kelly Carillon of Avon CT, Jonathan Orton of Woonsocket RI, Christopher Orton of Uxbridge MA and Linda Murphy of Green Cove Spring FL;      (7) Great Grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.

 

She was the mother of the late Thomas A. Turner who died in 2008; paternal grandmother of the late David Turner and the mother-in-law of the late Robert Orton, who died in 2016.

 

In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place and a Private Committal Service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne MA at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.
