Mr. John J. Belland Jr., 80, of Milford MA and formerly of Mendon MA, died Friday (November 13, 2015) at Genesis Healthcare-Milford Center after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of the late Constance M. (Luke) Belland, who died November 2nd.
Mr. Belland was born in Medway MA, the son of the late John and the late Mary (Evans) Belland Sr. He was a graduate of Medway High School, Class of 1953. He was also a US Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Belland was the owner and operator of J. J. Belland Plumbing Contractors for 34 years, retiring in 2000. He was a past-president of the Framingham Master Plumbers Association.
Mr. Belland had been a resident of Mendon MA for over thirty years and also resided in Mashpee MA. He enjoyed coin collecting, antique cars, boating and woodworking. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his 4 Children: Sharon M., wife of Rik Mason of Franklin MA, Thomas R. Belland and his wife Kara of Mendon MA, Kimberly A. Belland and her partner Cynthia Emerson McDevitt of Mendon MA and Jennifer H., wife of Michael Victor of Portsmouth RI; 4 Grandchildren: Connor Belland, Sean Belland, John Henry Victor and Julia Victor; his siblings: Frank Hilferty of Duxbury MA, Marie Tennihan of Dedham MA, Eileen Siebold of Stoneham MA, Rita Barbrie of Blackstone MA and Robert Belland of NH; also several nieces & nephews.
His funeral, with Military Honors, will be held Wednesday (November 18th) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway MA. Visiting hours will be Tuesday (November 17th) from 4pm to 7pm.
