Theresa R. (Romano) Cantalupo

            Mrs. Theresa R. (Romano) Cantalupo, 99, died Monday (December 7, 2015) at the Shrewsbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Patrick J. Cantalupo, who died on the same day in 1999.

            Mrs. Cantalupo was born in Steubenville OH, the daughter of the late Andrea and the late Giuseppa (Frassica) Romano. She attended Worcester public schools.

            Mrs. Cantalupo had been a resident of Shrewsbury MA since 2007. Prior to that she had resided in Westborough MA and had resided in Holliston MA for most of her life. She was a longtime volunteer at the Milford Hospital and a member of the Westborough Swim & Tennis Club. Theresa had a very competitive spirit and loved all forms of exercise, especially yoga and swimming. She taught many family members how to swim over the years. Well known for her sense of style, Theresa also loved to ballroom dance with her husband. She will be remembered fondly for her love of old movies and most excellent spaghetti sauce, which many have tried to replicate over the years without success!

            Mrs. Cantalupo is survived by 1 Son: Peter J. Cantalupo of NH; 6 Grandchildren: Todd Cantalupo and his wife Kelly of NH, David Cantalupo of RI, Naldo Sean Cantalupo and his wife Alegre of CA, Nate Walsh of Massachusetts, Liciana Cantalupo Kilfeather and her husband Michael of NJ and Mindy Matarazzo and her husband Rick of NH; 6 Great Grandchildren: Kyle, Anna and Emma Cantalupo of NH, Aiden and Aoife Kilfeather of NJ and Akai Cantalupo of CA;1 Sister: Grace Foniri of Pembroke MA; also several nieces & nephews including her godchild: Patrice Green and her husband Donald and their son Dante of Arlington MA; and her dear friends Gene and Rose Rovedo of Medway MA.

            She was the mother of the late Dr. Paul Cantalupo, of Brentwood CA, who died in 1996 and also pre-deceased 2 brothers.

            Her funeral will be Friday (December 11th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 NOON at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Private Committal Services will be held Monday (December 14th) in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne MA. A visiting hour will be held Friday (December 11th) from 10:30am to 11:30am, prior to her Funeral Mass.                                      

            Due to floral restrictions at the cemetery, memorial donations may be made to The Disabled American Veterans Association.
